Resolutions {wiw}

2014...I'm ready! This year was a mixed bag...good and bad.  My resolutions are:

*To spend more quality time with my kids
*Get healthier
*Get organized
*Paint more stuff
*Garden more

With that said, onto my last {wiw} post of 2013.

A montage of some of my favorite posted outfits of the year

This past week...

Errands...A popover from my son's school, jeans and Vineyard Vines flipflops.

Hue jeggings, Lilly Elsa and J.Crew Cece flats.

Hubby and I weren't supposed to exchange gifts....he's tricky and a good shopper.

Some silly stocking stuffers for him...bacon-flavored dental floss and fun boxers.

Love my ooolllldddd houndstooth coat ~ never goes out of style.

Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pulls aka Crack Bread {repost/appetizer}

PERFECT for New Years Eve!!

 Excuse my fancy paper plate picture!  This was hastily prepared for New Years Eve {2011}

Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pulls aka Crack Bread
1 unsliced loaf of sourdough bread (preferably round)

  • 8 to 12 ounces Cheddar cheese, thinly sliced

  • 3-ounce bag Oscar Mayer Real Bacon Bits

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon ranch dressing mix

  • Using a sharp bread knife, cut the loaf in both directions in a checkerboard pattern, being careful not to cut through the bottom crust.

  • Place slices of cheese between cuts.

  • Sprinkle bacon bits on bread, making sure to get between cuts.

  • Mix butter with ranch dressing mix. Pour over bread.

  • Wrap loaf in foil and place on baking sheet.

  • Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • Unwrap. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

  • I found the recipe in blogland and then used this version for my recipe (and the NYT picture is more appetizing than mine!)

    Christmas Rewind

    Christmas morning..

    Expressions of delight.

    The calm before a wrapping storm.

    The reindeer had food stashed indoors and out, they got a little messy...
    Parties at friends and families

    My in-laws fireplace.  Nice to be there on Christmas Eve, as this time last year they were displaced from Hurricane Sandy

    Yes, the big boy got a bb gun.  Hope he doesn't shoot his eye out...

    Husband got fishing gear and a beach buggy pass, along with some silly stocking stuffers.  Bacon-flavored dental floss anyone???

    My MIL made these cute cork trees, I am so doing this next year.  Lord knows we have enough corks!

    We weren't supposed to exchange gifts this year.  He did a pretty good job surprising me (including the gift card, I saw the box come in the mail and thought it was flip-flops)!

    Hope your holiday was wonderful...on to 2014!
