Crew's Quarters {ORC Finale} Playroom Bath

Better late than never!  This bathroom is off of a kitchenette in our playroom.  The kids playroom was freshened up a few months ago, you can see that here.

These are all of the before pics.

I had dreams of new flooring, a plank wall and an ambitious, quirky closet door, but whatever...it looks refreshed and it is going to take a beating by kids and visitors.

So here is our beachy bath that fits our Jersey Shore lifestyle perfectly!

My husband ripped out the old wire shelving and built these.

They are much deeper than what we had and are more pleasing to the eye.

I'll let the pictures do the talking, sources listed below...

The boys love this refreshed space!

Undone {One Room Challenge 2014} Crew's Quarters

Undone...but I will be, as I've come this far.  We simply ran out of time.  Between travel(Chicago was Amazing!), day jobs and our babies...some things are more pressing.

I could have hastily thrown it all together, but that's not my style.  I want to feel good about this space and stay true to my original inspiration.

PLEASE go visit the other ORC Linkers, because there is some serious home runs and magic being made over at Linda's!

The good news is that most of my finishing touches will involve shopping.

I acquired this vintage camp stool for the room.

Hubs will be painting and caulking and finishing the shelving.

Still need to purchase fixtures and textiles (that's the fun part!)

So here I sit broken-hearted, but look at where I started!

So please stop by when the room is complete and thanks for your patience!

Thanks for visiting!

Crew's Quarters {ORC week five} Playroom Bath

Leaving on a jet plane...

We are leaving today for a wedding weekend in Chicago and I am really excited to go and spend time with family and friends!  Follow me on Instagram, to follow our adventures in the windy city!

However, my room is not done.  I {hopefully} will get it done before next week, but I'm not going to stress.

Our playroom bath has come along way in 5 weeks.

Lighting and electric have been completed.  Thanks so much to Pottery Barn, whose customer service was quick and hassle-free when I received a defective item.

Electric has been upgraded and made safer and the lovely mirror is up.

Thanks to my husband for building the shelving that will be more practical than what we had.  I just need to throw a quick coat of paint on them.

A few quick spray paint projects have transformed my accessories.  My S/U/N hook plan fell through, but I painted some cheap hooks from Lowe's the color of the sun...

So that's where I am at. I'm pleased with my progress.

Stop by next week for the finale and see some pretty and fun accessories!

I still have some projects that I want to purse in the future, like a plank wall and flooring.  But home-keeping is a never-ending  endeavor.

This is where I started:

And this was my inspiration:

Please visit Linda @ Calling it Home to see more amazing spaces.  The company I am in this go-around is pretty awesome...

Crew's Quarters {ORC week four} Playroom Bath

Welcome to my One Room Challenge week four update.

I've accomplished a lot the past week and I've hit a few snags.

First off...paint is done!  I was on the fence about painting the closet, considering just closing it off all together, but that would be lazy and not in my nature.

And it's OK, I have a hair appointment on Monday...they can just cut the paint outta my hair.

I've painted many rooms in my lifetime, but not a closet. Too close of quarters for my bouffant. But all is well and it looks so much better!

We ripped out the poorly constructed wire shelving and hope to replace with more practical wood shelving.

Reminder of where I started...
Snag No. 1.  Measure, measure, measure.  The basket I ordered for the room was too big, I found a home for it anyway...

Playing with accessories, before lighting went up.

See that fab fixture...it was installed and ready to go when a piece of the porcelain receptacle broke off.  Thankfully Pottery Barns customer service was excellent and the new one is on the way.

Also...the fixture will not be centered over the mirror.  Our budget is nil and if I were to move it, I'd want our electrician to do it.  I'll make the best of it!  Once the accessories are in, it'll work.  Hey, I'm going for vintage, not perfection.

Speaking of perfection, this is how this smells.  Can't wait to rinse off after our first beach trip!

Printed some images from the NY Public Library digital collection library.  There is a plethora of material, and you could get lost for hours.  Find it here.

So that's where I am at this week four.  We are traveling to Chicago next week for a destination wedding.  I really have to keep on keeping on, as I will lose 5 days to travel.

I have been remiss in checking out my fellow linkers rooms and hope to catch up shortly.  I know you all are doing amazing things; and as always thanks to our host Linda at Calling it Home!
