Halloween around the Huttons

Just a few snapshots of our home this spooky season.

A few tombstones, mums and card stock bats, which the neighborhood loved (so did we!).

Mantel 2014
looks so much better lit up at night, but you get the idea.

Lanterns in the boys playroom.

Dollar store finds are the best. Candy corn, candles and place mats.  Spiderweb bowls hold a stack of cards for our Fall birthday boys.

Candy Corn-O-Lantern pillow from Big Lots.

Close-ups of the mantel.

Some decorations collected through the years and a spooky uncle.

...a perched crow in a jungle of houseplants.
(should've edited my pics, these don't do justice)

Dining room decor.

Foyer

More playroom.

I wish I had more shots, especially of the outdoors, but a nor'Easter 2 weeks ago blew a lot away.

Here's Brennan and the neighbors at a trick-or-treat at the local high school.

Again, this dip was ridiculously good!

A couple of shots from our neighbors Halloween party.  So fun.  The decor in and outside their home was amazing and spooky.

I think I started Halloween too early this year, because I am over it!  Time to put away the creepy and refine my Fall style.  So...

On to the next!

And by refine I mean decorate with a cardboard turkey with assfan.

Wine Cork Pumpkin

Popping in to share my Mother-in-Laws adorable wine cork pumpkin craft.  So fun for right now, whether you make it for yourself or a hostess/teacher gift??

Now if I can just get myself to break out the glue gun and my overflowing back of corks!

I'll be sharing pics of my boys birthday party later this week and our Halloween decor next week...stop back!

Thanks for visiting!

Autumn on the Outside {2013}

Temps are in the 80's here on the Jersey Shore, making it slightly difficult to say goodbye to summer...

and hello to Autumn. But yard work is a lot easier in shorts, tanks and flip-flops!

We will be making a craft this weekend from this printable.

Target dollar spot items and skewers liven up a pot of mums.

I spray painted our house number on an Adirondack chair outside of our side entrance.

Suburban graveyard

Boo!

If there is one thing you must indulge in this season, it's this candle. Burns forever + free shipping.

Spider Wine Bottle Craft {Halloween craft swap}

Empty wine bottle
Silver or gold Sharpie
Plastic Spiders ~ black & orange
Hot glue gun
String of lights (optional)

With a steady hand draw your cobweb (or ghosts, or whatever...be creative!)
Glue on your spiders in various spots
If desired, stick a string of lights in it.
Looks great, either way.

That's it!  Super easy and great for gift giving.

Hutton Halloween Mantle 2013

I turned our Homegoods botanical print vertical and adorned it with black torn netting from the Dollar Tree.  A Pottery Barn feathered bat & happy halloween garland along with a Dollar Tree furry brown spider add to the look.

{I snuck in a dining room pic, the Halloween house tour will come later}

It glows beautifully at night and the kids are getting a kick out of it.

A string of old pumpkin lights, an orange-striped pillar tucked in a burlap bag, wrought-iron/Silvery accessories...

Orange textured vase, black pillar in a sheer spiderweb bag, more silver and wrought-iron accessories.  Fun touch...one of those really creep pictures, where if you turn it the right way two seemingly sweet girls become skeletal.  Of course, we have two boys...

It's fun, it's festive and hopefully the trick-or-treaters will get a kick out of it!

Do any of you remember the old Roseanne Show Halloween episodes?  They were awesome and you can get some great ideas from them.  I hope to try some of those tricks as the boys get older and I have more time.  More time....yeah.
