What you should be buying now at the $15 Dollar Store {fashion}

Because, for most of us, it can't be all Tory Burch and Anthropologie.  I've done posts on the $15 Dollar Store before, check my archives.

All Items $15.  Here we go...

Fun, colorful maxi dress dress by Chord.  So pretty with gold sandals and multiple station necklaces...

Speaking of necklaces.  This one could compete with any Baublebar piece and would compliment that summer glow we ALL hope to have soon!

Rompers are where it's at this summer.  Supplement your your Lilly's and Topshops with this Rampage version and stretch that warddrobe.

Sun hats are always chic!  This one by Scala, for $15, will look awesome with all of your suits and cover-ups.

I am LOVING this day dress from Trixxi for work!

I've been singing the praises of the $15 Dollar Store for years. I've gotten some of my best wardrobe staples from them.  All sales are final.  In the rare case that something didn't fit or work for me, I just passed it on to a friend.  Shipping is fast and reasonable.  Buy 7 items and shipping is free.  ** All of the photos on this post are courtesy of the $15 Dollar Store. I was in no way compensated for this post, all of the suggestions and opinions on this post are my own**

Crew's Quarters {ORC week five} Playroom Bath

Leaving on a jet plane...

We are leaving today for a wedding weekend in Chicago and I am really excited to go and spend time with family and friends!  Follow me on Instagram, to follow our adventures in the windy city!

However, my room is not done.  I {hopefully} will get it done before next week, but I'm not going to stress.

Our playroom bath has come along way in 5 weeks.

Lighting and electric have been completed.  Thanks so much to Pottery Barn, whose customer service was quick and hassle-free when I received a defective item.

Electric has been upgraded and made safer and the lovely mirror is up.

Thanks to my husband for building the shelving that will be more practical than what we had.  I just need to throw a quick coat of paint on them.

A few quick spray paint projects have transformed my accessories.  My S/U/N hook plan fell through, but I painted some cheap hooks from Lowe's the color of the sun...

So that's where I am at. I'm pleased with my progress.

Stop by next week for the finale and see some pretty and fun accessories!

I still have some projects that I want to purse in the future, like a plank wall and flooring.  But home-keeping is a never-ending  endeavor.

This is where I started:

And this was my inspiration:

Hubs and I are heading to Chicago for a destination wedding...planning our itinerary!

Dental work this week, not a crown, but painful nonetheless...

You can find amazing, free printables from the NY Public Library Digital Collection.  I've printed some for my One Room Challenge project.  Check it out here.

Our county dodged a bullet yesterday.  Conditions were perfect for wildfires.  Many of my friends and co-workers were affected, but thankfully all are safe and the fire is mostly contained. #prayforrain

I am looking forward to a quiet, productive weekend.  What do you have planned?

Crew's Quarters {ORC week four} Playroom Bath

Welcome to my One Room Challenge week four update.

I've accomplished a lot the past week and I've hit a few snags.

First off...paint is done!  I was on the fence about painting the closet, considering just closing it off all together, but that would be lazy and not in my nature.

And it's OK, I have a hair appointment on Monday...they can just cut the paint outta my hair.

I've painted many rooms in my lifetime, but not a closet. Too close of quarters for my bouffant. But all is well and it looks so much better!

We ripped out the poorly constructed wire shelving and hope to replace with more practical wood shelving.

Reminder of where I started...
Snag No. 1.  Measure, measure, measure.  The basket I ordered for the room was too big, I found a home for it anyway...

Playing with accessories, before lighting went up.

See that fab fixture...it was installed and ready to go when a piece of the porcelain receptacle broke off.  Thankfully Pottery Barns customer service was excellent and the new one is on the way.

Also...the fixture will not be centered over the mirror.  Our budget is nil and if I were to move it, I'd want our electrician to do it.  I'll make the best of it!  Once the accessories are in, it'll work.  Hey, I'm going for vintage, not perfection.

Speaking of perfection, this is how this smells.  Can't wait to rinse off after our first beach trip!

Printed some images from the NY Public Library digital collection library.  There is a plethora of material, and you could get lost for hours.  Find it here.

So that's where I am at this week four.  We are traveling to Chicago next week for a destination wedding.  I really have to keep on keeping on, as I will lose 5 days to travel.

I have been remiss in checking out my fellow linkers rooms and hope to catch up shortly.  I know you all are doing amazing things; and as always thanks to our host Linda at Calling it Home!

Crew's Quarters {ORC week three} Playroom Bath

"Spring is a time of plans and projects" - Leo Tolstoy

Yes Sir, it is!  How are ya'll doing this week?  I've regrouped and gotten it together.

This is where I started, all beige-ish and rusty with Walmart accessories.

This is where I am now.  The hard part is done (cutting in) and I have a much needed 3-day weekend coming up to hammer it home.

So today I will share some of my resources and accessories.

Ralph Lauren Greenwich hand towels in white.  Always a steal at Horchow.  The only towels we use, monogrammed or not.

Bliss lemon+sage body wash from Neiman Marcus.  Perfect for rinsing off the sand and chlorine.

Pottery Barn accessories.  PB has been on point lately with coupons and offers.

If YOU are looking for a Pottery Barn deal, use this promo code for 15% off your entire order through 4/21...

...now I just need them on Ebates!

Mercer horizontal double sconce. A major score with rewards certificates + 15% off.

I've had the medium Piper mirror for ages, waiting on this project.  Reminiscent of mirrors had by my grandmothers.

Braided Jute basket.

Sherwin Williams Sea Salt paint in satin, cut to 50%.

Here are the 3 throw rugs I am considering via Rugs Direct

And my one snafu below.  Letter hooks from Iron Accents.  The plan was to spell SUN.  Unfortunately, S is on backorder and U, N won't ship until mid-May.  Onto plan B.

And lastly, my original inspiration board.
